is this big enough for a BOB.

http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorgear/TNF2013/The-North-Face-Terra-30-Backpack-1850-cu-in.html

I also own this one

http://www.thenorthface.com/catalog/sc-gear/terra-60.html

the reason why I ask is I am using a camelbak backpack that is to small. I cant find the name of it online. I bought it at cabelas in multicam.

I guess it would depend on if its just for you or family also?  Also how long is the BO?

1850 cubic inches is not particularly big.  That's honestly, like, grade school backpack territory.

But the picture makes it seem like a large bag, so I don't know what's up.

I have a kelty redwing 3100 that got a little tight inside with a one week kit, with the bag and tent separate.  That's a 3100 cubic inch bag.  I've also used a 2500, which was even tighter.  I can't imagine 1850.

That's a day bag, not a BOB.

it looks pretty big. We plan on bugging in so I think it would have to get me home from work or where ever I am.

Looks aren't everything, particularly in static advertising pictures.

That's a bad bag, Lefty.

As another example, a 24" carry-on suitcase will start around 3000 cubic inches and can easily go up to 5500+.

1800 cubic inches is SMALL, no matter what the picture looks like.

It's SMALL, Lefty.  SMALL.

SMALL.

Go to REI and check out some packs during their sale this week, Lefty:

Pay attention to specs like cubic inches, ask for help, throw some of their ballast pillows in a pack and try it on for fit, etc.

Mail ordering a pack is tough even for experienced backpackers, as fit and design is so unique and personal.  It's a lot like buying a first gun online.  We can easily tell you which ones to avoid, but there's no way to tell you which ones are great for you.

But avoid the one you're looking at, it's like a red robin cheeseburger; looks huge in the commercials but is tiny in real life.

1500-2000 cubic inches is about what I would use for a B.O.B. in a car.

I didn't notice that you own the Terra 60, lefty.

That one is:
[Medium] 3700 in3 (60 liters)
[Large] 3850 in3 (63 liters)

The Terra 30, by comparison, is:
1850 in3 (30 liters)

So the Terra 30 is, as the name suggests, half the internal volume of the Terra 60.

For yet more comparison, this cute little guy:

is rated at 2015 in³ (33 liters), a little more than the Terra 30.  That ought to give you an idea of just how small a 30 liter pack is.

And this camelbak pack is 30 liters:

terra 30's are nice packs and in person look much bigger than the stated size. I sell them daily at the part time job.

it's about the size of most tactical 3 days packs but you can expand the top a bit too.

they come in olive green too.

I have been thinking of getting one as a bob too

nice padded back and hipbelt too.

Depends on what you want to put in it.
