Anyone raise them for eating? My son wants to get two of them. Don't know anything about raising them. How much do they eat per wek? How long until they don't have to have a heat lamp? Which feathers to clip on the wings?

What breed of duck?  Some do not need the primary flight feathers clipped.  Care for the ducklings is relatively easy.  On a small scale a box works fine for brooding, as long as it is kept clean and has adequate ventilation.  More info would be helpful.

They are pretty entertaining, much more personality than chickens.  Good for bug control - will snap flies out of the air with enthusiasm.  But they can be pretty messy... we got rid of the ones we had when we got a pool, because, well... I'll just leave it at that.
