A good checklist with actions to take in the course of different scenarios could be useful to:

1.)Give you a plan
2.)Decrease anxiety by knowing you have a plan
3.)Help inform a S.O./Family member what to do if you aren't there.

This is a primary list of actions I have thought of taking in the course of X disaster. Once I have a more complete list I will make more standardized operations procedures for specific events. Feel free to add your own measures and we can use what we want from the list.

Contact S.O./Son and make sure they are ok. Have a plan to meet up and when to communicate next.
Ask if this is the precursor to another event. What else is coming down the pipe?
Contact immediate family. Plan to meet/ when to talk next.
See if neighbors are ok.
Bugging in? Bugging out?
Use media (Am/FM/Ham/TV/e-mail/Facebook/Twitter/) to monitor event
Charge cell phone(s)
Turn off gas to house
Fill tub/sinks/containers/ with water
Fill vehicles/gas cans w/ gas
Fill propane tanks
Shopping list?
Fly appropriate flag(s)-This some from 911 when some neighbors flew US flags which bolstered my courage)
Fill coolers with ice/dry ice

I think there are a number of things that you could do on your list before hand.

For example, keeping your gas and propane tanks full.  I keep mine full, and rotate them with use.  I have 2 extra of each that I use as needed.  These are rotated through storage, but not included in the minimum amount of fuel I keep on hand.  For example.  I keep several propane tanks full of propane.  I also have one on the grill that may not be full at any time.  I do not count this one in the stored fuel, but as soon as it is empty I replace it with one from storage, and fill the empty one, placing it in storage.

Do your shopping now, so that you do not need to worry about it later.

Have you considered purchasing a small inverter generator so that you can run a freezer, and not need to worry about the Ice or Dry ice in a cooler?  This would run your ham radio also and would allow you to charge any batteries you plan on using.

What is you plan if you are unable to contact your family members?  Do they know what to do, or where to go in event you need to leave your home?  Do they know where to meet up with you and what to bring if possible?

Well, the University of Florida has a plan here that I find interesting, is this the sort of plan you mean?

As a prepper I have most of this stuff done. It is sort of a "top off" list. I do not plan on joining hoards running around buying out the TP or anything like that.

I have a Honda EU2000i on the list short list.
