I'm glad I could make your day

I thought it was an interesting bit of historical trivia that shows just how far they explored the "what if" questions about civil defense back in the 50s.

Couldn't find it.

Steves Pages had a few old issues but nowhere near the entire run.
I scanned in another ten years worth of issues from my own collection into PDFs and offered them to Steve but he said he was two years behind in adding stuff to his site and declined

I'm still looking for loans from people who might have  older issues I can scan to fill in the gaps of the older issues

The conspiracy theorist in me suspects one thing, the realist sees people just not keeping their sites up....

I've managed to cull about 300 gigs of info from the links in the thread as well as the externals and thumb drives making their rotation, and even that collection seems to have hot a plateau
No one else seems to be contributing any new links to the thread either
hate to see the thread disappear but there comes a time for all good threads to fade away
I will continue to post new links as I find them if the thread hasn't archived by then

I've got the stuff organized
Being able to add notes to a specific PDF would be nice but I am not into the Cloud
Thanks though

Thank you sir. Coming from you I take that as an extreme compliment.  I have done my best over the 11 years here to listen and read more than post.  This forum and others like it provide a wealth of learning....

Thanks for the bump.
Haven't been finding many new links to relevant useful information lately
The collection has been in a summer-long slump growth-wise, but it's been that way every year.
Seems to be something that folks pay attention to more over the winter months
The thumbdrives have actually been busier making their rounds south of the equator this summer.
Thanks again to everyone who's helped out or passed along information, and hopefully someone will pass along new information as they find it.

(Unofficial Bump)

I'm a constant SF lurker.  Don't really comment much.

So, do most of you take all of these PDF's and put them on a thumb drive/jump drive?  Has anyone printed these out for a hard copy?  I'm thinking in case of EMP or something similar to where my laptop won't work anymore, but I need that info.

A printed version in a nice binder might be a great idea.  Anyone done this yet?  Thoughts?

Too much to print out everything
If there's a book I particularly like in PDf form I'll buy a physical copy of it.
I carry a thumbdrive
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/flash-survivor-stealth-usb-3-0-256gb-usb-flash-drive
with the bulk of the collection on it
The only problem I've found with that particular drive is that the threads on the case eventually wear out if frequently used.
Hasn't been a problem so far in that I simply retire the older drives as loaners for when the collection goes out or as back up copies in the BOB
if you're worried about EMP it might be worth your time to invest in a tablet  which you pre-load desired documents on and a  solar charger and store them in a faraday cage.

HA! Some of these links have been floating around for years.

tc556guy - remember when we put that original list together? jeez, long time ago....

Here's a set of videos - if you study them there is not another shelter or fire management resource that you need:  The guy that never talks and does everything from scratch

Of course, there's still hunting, water management, etc... etc... etc...

Happy data mining :)

These various lists have been the cumulative effort of many posters over many forums, offered up and plagiarized and passed along on this and other forums. I can't lay sole claim to any list although I've tried to pass along many a link here that I originally saw on other forums.
Yeah its been a long process. I had to go back to page one to refresh my memory on my first post in the thread.

Tag for when I get back to my desktop and find the AG extension site with free building plans.  Mostly AG oriented, but some other good stuff too.

Guessing you mean the NDSU site. There's a link here somewhere already. KSU and LASU are two others that have building plans from what I recall in my collection. And then of course there's the wide variety of civil defense plans that are sprinkled around a number of sites that have been linked too already
Many of the more rural state universities seem to offer up various building plans
