Better?!? http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b262/die-tryin/CaseIII.jpg The only thing Im leary of is 1911 in leather holster, more than likely ill leave it out. Niiiiice SBR, well done. I'm not a fan of leather holsters myself due to the moisture retention. Have you looked at a Kydex holster for that 1911? |

Pull that mag pouch off the velcro, remove the carry strap from the bag - and viola! Instant over the shoulder magazine carrier:
For the carbines:

I got some new foam and in the process of reconfiguring my 'grab n go' pelican case. Here is my layout for now, still moving pieces around and then ill outline the stuff and cut the foam. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b262/die-tryin/Case.jpg Includes 4-5 mags each weapon, cleaning kit and light. Ill throw my NFA paperwork in the bottom and a couple rags. What size Pelican case it that? How are you going to cut your foam?? |

Looks good, OP. |

Its the 1700. Foam has been cut, I just use a razor knife and do sawing motion and it cuts right thru, no tearing or ripping of foam. Ill actually flip the foam over to hide the sharpie marks, lol. Here is final results. I can still add the 1911 mag holder in place of the mags themselves. I do have a descrete double rifle soft case, but it gets crowded in there and cant haul the pistols. This pelican case is my BugOut setup, if Ive got mere seconds/minutes to leave my premise I can grab this and atleast have something. Case is a bit heavy, but not unmanagable. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b262/die-tryin/CaseIV.jpg Looks awesome. |

For storage I have always been told that foam retained moisture? Anyone know about that? I have thought about do this but didn't want to find one of my ar's rusted and pitted one day. 1) Ive been storing my AR and 1911 in this case for YEARS, never any rust or anything. I keep it closed and latched and its in an A/C environment. 2) I dont remember where I got the case from, it could be from Case4less.com but not 100%, at the time it was $130bux, plus 20bux shipping. 3) I got the foam from work, after messing with some more, moving it around all that. I may need some stiffer foam, I noticed if I put the case on its end, it kind of squishes everything to the bottom (gravity, etc), so there is a small gap in the foam at the top. For now itll do. |

Glad you put the pouches & holsters in too... Mags & Weapons without an easy carrying method are pretty much useless if you can't keep them with you when they're needed. |

Open cell foam can retain moisture. Water get's into the pores and stays there. Closed cell foam on the other hand doesn't retain water and is a better option for storing weapons. Better weapons cases use closed cell foam, cheaper ones use open cell. |

I'm also curious as to what type of scenario do you see using something like that? I assume some type of BO but if on foot, that's going to be somewhat of a bitch to carry (and not very low profile either)? If BO'ing a vehicle it would be OK but I think I would want the weapons a little more accessible, especially the .45? |

so. you keep those weapons in the case 24/7? where do you keep them at? not specifically but do you have a separate safe or something equally secure? those are NFA items and are subject to a little stricter rules I'm told. You are told wrong. There are no special storage requirements for NFA items. Locking them up is in your best interest, but not required. There are a lot of myths around about NFA, WDS |

I have all my first and second line gear in a Rubbermaid tote and the rifle in a separate rifle case. Always wearing the pistol. It's not readily portable. I need to quit thinking range and start thinking FO TIME. (I believe that's the first opportunity I've had to use that particular phrase )

Come on, somebody has to have one made out of a guitar case... The carbines fit in smaller tennis racket cases, and you've seen the SPR case. HAHAH!!! I knew it! Good one and plus one for improved concealment when shtf |
