Hi All,

We just moved into a new house and are looking for a generator. The house is already wired with a transfer switch and we have 825gal of #2. Would like to get something 5500W+ ...might go as high as 7kW

Anyone have experience with these? Found a few threads in search, but they were older so thought I'd ask again.

Thanks very much in advance!

For just a backup supply of power I like the Kubotas.

For continuos running 24/7/365 look into some unit with low rpms.

The sweetest genie I've ever seen was a cummins/onan quiet diesel. You could hold a conversation in normal voice standing right next to it! BIG bux but worth every penny IMMHO

Look in the phone book for a commercial generator dealer.  Institutions replace generators every 5 or 10 years, you may be able to find a used rig with low hours fairly cheap.
