Does anyone have one or any experience with them?

a family friend has 2 of them
GREAT ranch trucks theyll go anywhere they come in several variants....the one he has can fit about 8 people in the back uncomfortably as far as drivetrain and engine...air cooled VW 4 cylinder, 4wheel independent suspension, everything underneath is waterproof 22inches of clearance, locking diffs, ULTRA low gear 4wd, this one came with a set of pioneer tools and water +gas cans lets see what else, roll cage, detatchable doors, buildt in gun rack, manual transmission, i think 4 or 5 speed, i dont suggest driving it on the highway because it tops out at about 55 and is kinda top heavy otherwise its a very capable machine |
| They are not bad. I rode around with a friend who had one, but parts are not that easy to come by, especially for the engine (it is not the same as a VW). Take a look at the unimog, Land Rover 101 forward control and Volvo C303 as other options. All three share parts with the more normal vehicles so you can get spares more readily. |

I've got an exMOD series III Land Rover - I got a lot of crap about parts and mechanical issues when I was buying it. But, I've had a lot of luck getting anything I've needed and IMO the prices have been very reasonable. More so than any of the domestic trucks we've had to deal with at work.
I think pinz's are in the same boat - there are those that love 'em and as such there is a network of assistance/dealers/aftermarket vendors out there - as with anything, you just have to dig in and be prepared to do stuff yourself and do your homework. With the manuals I've dug up I have been able to do a lot of the work that I've needed to do. Can't say that with my daily driver! Now when SHTF will I be able to go on indefinately? no, but who says there will be gas around? there's a real nice Pinz 710 on ebay right now, item 170368520728. Not mine, but I'd love to make it mine HTH O75 |
