my old thread was archived.... guess that's what happens when life gets in the way....

been a long time since my last update... several family medical issues with my wife and youngest have not left a lot of time to get away and work...

I re-worked the cabin page into a blog so people can just subscribe to the rss feed. The urls changed in doing so... everything is off this page : Cabin

I've had a couple of updates this month so maybe I can get back to getting things done...

for anyone looking here is the archived thread : my $7.5 sqaure foot cabin (so far)

Read your old thread a while back.  I love your cabin and have big plans to do a similiar project myself in a few years!

Keep up the posts so we can all keep motivated as well!

we had a vacation at the end of august... here are some pics : 8-29-2009

You can see our new sawdust toilet... we had guests over and everyone had no problem with it's use...

We worked last weekend but did not take any pics... the exhaust on my jeep gave out and a half mile from the cabin and I did not feel like taking any... replaced it during the week and went back down today... here are some pics : 9-12-2009

edit - fixed links...

The pics are very slow to load if they do.  I would enjoy seeing them but would not get them to work before my patients ran out.

I love your updates.

We have a couple of Amish farms near our BOL that we visit, usually buy eggs, milk, butter and such, nice people.

Did you build the cabin or did you have the Amish do it?

thanks... Many people here complain about the Amish but I admire their lifestyle.... not enough to live like them.... but still admire them...

Mose, our Amish friend and his son David built the shell... basically put in the posts, framed it, put on the board and batton sidding and the roof... They finished up everything they did about 18 months ago... since then we have been busy finishing it up...
