LA Police Gear has these:
http://www.lapolicegear.com/detegasma.html One is NBC, the other is essentially just for CS, CN or OC. Problem is: from what I can tell the only filter you can buy through LAPG is the one for the CS/CN/OC.....so it really wouldn't do any good to get the NBC mask if you can't get filters. Does anyone have a source for NBC filters? I'm guessing they are heavily regulated. For a SHTF scenario involving biological weapons, obviously I'd need the NBC mask. Also, I need two of these: one for me, one for the wife but at $300 a piece, that's not likely to happen. Are there any surplus masks you guys would recommend (used is fine), but I'd like a filter on the side if possible. M-17s I see occasionally for sale at surplus stores. Anyone have any good sources for filters or masks or can recommend a particular model? BTW, I'm might buy right away if the price is right.....I've got most of my preps going along nicely and the masks are really something I highly doubt I'd need, but it's more of a JIC thing. If they are going to run $300 each, then I will likely wait. Sean |

Er....maybe I should learn to read. Looks like the cheaper $169 mask works on NBC threats as well...just need the appropriate filter. Anyone know where to get the 1745 CBNR filter for this mask:
http://www.lapolicegear.com/deoptagasma.html I can't tell for sure, but the 1785 filter they sell doesn't look like it's rated for Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, Radiological attacks....any clarification would be great. TIA, Sean |

For NBC, ebay yourself an MSA Millenium (Navy's MCU-2P) - $30-50, with Scott M-95 or MPC Plus filters ~$40 ea.
You can get 40mm industrial work filters for a little cheaper from lots of places. I think some may even have changeable particulate filters over the industrial gas section. |
