For those of you that have discussed using a bike to bug out, I spotted this outside of a McDonalds and thought of you guys.
If you are going by bike, this would be the way to go.

wayniac:  It looks like the operator of that bike has been trekking for a while.

That particular trailer is cheap but not as comfortable or durable as some of the better quality trailers.  From the looks of the rig; the rider may have begun the trip with the saddle bags and then added the trailer after some life lessons.

The advantage of that trailer is that you can usually find them used fairly cheap (think craigslist).

My sister rode her bike and camped across Europe in the 1970s.  My brother has gone on week long bike treks carrying everything.  I was riding 30-40 miles a day last summer in an effort to build up to a 170 mile ride to my BOL. Unfortunately, unrelated knee problem prevented me from going for it. However, I now have  new knee and am working it for a possible try in Sept.
