| I thought i saw a thread about pop-up trailers and someone posted info on a dual axle trailer where inside the couch, table, etc folded up so you could use it to haul something as big as a quad inside. The trailer was silver and i cant remember the name of it...it wasnt a pop-up though....anyone help? Thanks! |

You would be fine. It weighs 3680 LBS. unloaded. So you can still load olot of stuff onto this trailer. However look at the weight you can pull and don't under load the trailer the over load the Ford. If you want send me your phone number in a pm or email and I would be happy to go over it more with you.

Is that weight of the trailer for the bottom level with zero options and empty propane tanks?
I have a grand cherokee and with some of the used deals on trailers out there I got to doing some reading and I plan to just run my jeep across a scale to see its real weight before there is anything in it besides me and when looking at a trailer I plan to go for a test drive and probably weigh it as well. I compare it to the weight of vehicles before you fill the fuel tank and what not. I don't want this to come across as me being picky, I really like the idea of that trailer but I got to wondering what real world weight would be. |

Yes, that is the unloaded weight. However that is the weight as it sits with empty propane tanks, but with the stove,ac microwave ect. You are right about needing to get it weighed if you are close to your limit. This is built to be pulled by a half ton truck. Figure 250 lbs for a Yamaha/ Honda gen set. The about 2000lbs loaded, with out adding water. Water is 8.33 lbs per gal. That adds up quick. I would recommend to not fill up until you are close to where your going or have a bigger truck to pull it with. It is very easy in a bug out situation to over load a trailer and a truck. Ammo is heavy. However for a long term shtf, thank of how much longer you can be a "happy camper" . I love camping but lets face not many of us our in our teens anymore. We need ac and heat or at least our wives/ girlfriends/ kids do. This is something that you can write off as a 2nd home and use year round and always have the ability to get out of town quick. By the way figure about $130 or so monthly payment on it.
