Great video.  Very humbling considering the abundance of fresh meat and produce today.

Sharp Lady!  Our younger generation could benefit so by just spending a couple hours a week with this generation.  They are in for a big reality check if things continue to go down hill.

What should be nerve racking is the title.  No disrespect, but I cannot remember us really talking about the depression unless
it was in terms of some long ago history. My Grandparents lived it, my Father& Mother  lived it,  It seems to be more common place
now.  As if preparing us.   Before it's always been we had to do this..or we ate this..etc etc.

I enjoyed watching ms. Clara's videos , and only hope the greater depression #2 would be as cival and nostalgic as she recalls. But I seriously doubt it....

Did some lentils today. Mine had much less stuff and no bread
lentils, rice, a bit of oil, chunk of yesterday's meat cut in cubes, tomato sauce  and salt.

Great vids thanks for sharing!  The use of the stale bread as a food was really interesting, someone in the comments section pointed out if you use milk & sugar instead of oil & salt you'd end up with a bread pudding (dessert or breakfast).  Some really good ideas there.

Couple things strike me about this lady:

1) She's a sweet character - perhaps tough times breed a stronger soul, eh?

2) Some of the stories (sharing the books, sitting around the heat source)...hmmm...how many people could do that today with their temperaments?

3) She's pretty damn sharp and healthy for 93...i gotta go eat some lentil soup now
