Hi gang. First post in the survival forum. What is the rule of thumb when putting bleach in the water you are going to store, or is there a better alternative to bleach?

I believe the rule of thumb is 1 teaspoon of pure Clorox (non-scented) per 5 gallons. At least that's what I've been doing. After 10 days sealed it has no odor, and let it air for a little while if it does and the chlorine will evaporate.
