Took a few days off. Thanks for the perspecitves from my original post about Stopping preps.

I approached my psychosis from another perspective, I tried to become one of the un-enlightened and live in a world of less internet, less TV news, More entertainment TV, (Gray's with the Missus, ET and Access Hollywood...you get the idea)

I lasted all of about 3 days. It amazed me to think there are MANY who live in such a World who view anything going on today with the 2 parties bickering again.

Today I placed another order for Freeze dired and canned foods, filled up 3 more pre-ban Jerry Cans I had gotten  before my hernia surgery last friday.  Oh, that little tidbit about the surgery was the real ass kicker in all this.

Anyway, I'm back  ...within moderation....

yep, everything in moderation, don't forget to live while your preping.

the key is to be more preped than everyone else around you, which isn't too hard.

just keep at it.

as far as surgery goes, a form of depression (biological and psychological) is normal, don't let it effect your long term goals and plans.

Congrats, welcome back.  Anyone who's been exposed to the realities of what could happen and has put time into seriously preparing for them, could never really leave the lifestyle anyway.

Living is not about prepping, Prepping is about living.

exactly, just keep it in moderation, dont overspend on preps, and enjoy life with the family.  I still prep liberally, and think about it in everything i do daily, though this doesnt always mean spending lots.  i do know, however, that if not for my wife, i would be exceptiontally "crazy".  i know that in the current state of the economy, if not for her, i would probably be sleeping in a corner in the basement with a kevlar helmet on, clutching a rifle, and hiding behind ammo cans, boxes of food, bags of silver and jugs of water.  Instead, i simply worry about keeping several months of food and supplies in the pantry, a bit more stored bulk, and "enough" guns and ammo for any thing i could realistically expect.  I spend my days working, responsibly paying off dept, and simply enjoying my family time, and taking regular breaks for the fun in life

Good job!

Sounds like you now have a built in defense against the prepping-Blues.

When it starts weighing heavy on you,  take a few days off,
spend some kissy-face time with the wife, watch some TV.

I recommend UFC and WEC.

Nothing like watching a couple of guys beat the tar out of each other to make you feel better!
And,  eveything goes better with beer!

beer plus man vs wild fridays for the entertainment value plus beer, then another...

dont forget to work on your preparedness homebrewing skills for more beer while watching man vs wild...

the hops wont be up for another 6months yet...   didnt freeze enough...

then go work on your reloading skills/madness.
