I was able to find some MFCs that were advertised as "used" but look pretty darn new to me...  (.mil guys all have a garage full of milsurp crap, you'd be surprised who has what when you start asking around! ) Seems "bug OUT" oriented people can only carry so many and nowadays when $ is tight, they are willing to part with those they can't carry..  me, I am of the bugIN persuasion...

Anyhoo, yesterday in my continuing search I found a bunch of very new looking OD green MFCs with a red strap and the Viton gaskets for gas/petrol...the red strap has a "P" for petrol, and I also found a few spouts that look new.  I don't think Scepter even makes these anymore since they can't sell to civilians...

My question - is the viton seal for gas OK for Diesel as well?  Seems the rubber seal for diesel isn't good for gas, but Viton may be OK for both?

Thanks guys....

The Viton is fine for diesel.

BTW, great score!

Sceptor still makes them and they still sell to civilians (Canada).  Just not ones in this country.  You can blame Kalifornia for that BS

So what's to keep a person from picking up a couple on their next trip to Canada?

Is this something customs will be really looking out for?

I picked up some seals for some NATO cans I have, but they're made of Nitrile.   Is Viton better than Nitrile in this function?  Will my Nitrile seals work or did I just waste my money?  Thanks in advance.

So California is now passing laws in other states too

Now that's bull shit.

I bought a few of them a couple of years ago and they hold up well. I like the Sceptor cans as they don't bang and rattle as much as the NATO fuel cans while bouncing around off road. The ones Sceptor sold me are marked US Government Property ... Uncle Sam ain't come looking for them yet. I've found that plenty of places sell non-CARB cans and have about 10 or so all together between the NATO jerry cans and the Sceptor's.
