If you haven't read the books, you need to. I just finished my third reading of book 1 and am 1/4 way through my seond reading of book 2. I've already mailed payment for book 3.
On a surival note... the books just extrapolate on what could happen with all these crazy gun grabbers in congress and now the presidency, as well as what is about to happen econmically. I was startled after getting into book 2 again at how close our current situation is to the economy in the book. (well, we haven't chopped off a zero yet, but in another year I'll be we're close). |
| The major event in the beginning of first book is not too far off of what we could see happening with the looming threat of another gun ban. Might not be events and conspiracy theories masterminded by our own government but certainly any crimes commited with "weapons of war" (ie AR15s, AK47s etc) will be used by mainstream media and the new .gov to gain support for a new assault weapon ban. The recent shootings in Miami are a prime example. The mayor and other officials are already demanding and boasting support for gun bans and using this unfortunate event as thier "i told you so". I have seen more news stories related to the increase in gun purchases then ever...let the fear mongering begin! Next will be the increase in coverage on any viloence where a gun was even remotely used, seen or mentioned. After that the assault weapon ban is a shoe-in and there we sit. Its not exactly tin foil hat stuff but the government can manipulate and use the media to get support for just about anything. |

I have both of Matt's books and got my order in for the latest book. I like his writing style and have a hard time putting the books down and getting some sleep.
This latest book would make a great movie! Or this may be our real world sometime in the next four years. Red |
