Ar's were plentiful ranging from a Plain Jane CMMG for $859 to tricked out models for over 2K. Numerous dealers had just about any parts you might need. Not so many AK's.
There was a Barrett 50 cal - semi auto - belt fed for 12.5K. That thing is massive but what a toy that would make. 223 ammo was everywhere - Wolfe seemed to be the most available ranging from $275 - $300 per 1000. Some dealers would cut that price if you rurchased 5K or more. Pistol ammo also plentiful but kinda high - 44 Mag 240 gr JHP was $35 per box. 357 Mag 125 gr was cheap though - $18.50 a box. Hate to say I don't 'need' more ammo right now but I'm working on building my cash reserve. I did find a sealed tin of 8mm Mauser ammo - 340 rds for $110 - bought that. All in all there were deals to be had if you looked and shopped. Hope this info helps so you can compare at the next gun show in your area - IF we have anymore after the 20th. |

I set up at a small gun show yesterday up in Del.. It wasn't mobbed but was well attended I would say, I didn't bring much but sold very good I think. This show doesn't allow modern pistols, assault rifles or anything like that but did see a couple Garands and M1 carbines which were priced pretty high I thought. One guy was selling ammo, had lots of that greek 30 06. Price wasn't too bad, but Im used to getting my ammo on the cheap and I have plenty so no need to pay premium prices I figure.
...I talked to lots of people that was walking around and while some still thought that the "End was Near" because of the election most while maybe not that happy with the results didn't seem to think any new laws were on the horizon or that things would change for the worse because of Obama. Actually had a couple friends that were set up that told me they had voted for Obama because they were tired of the Republicans and was worried about the country's direction. I definatly got the impression that any panic buying was about over. ... I sold about half doz. 20 rd. AR magazines for $15 ea. but no bites on nice 30 rd.ones at $20 which sort of surprised me as I was hoping to catch the guys worried that they would be banned...OH well. .... Did get a pretty nice Siamese Mauser and a WWII Bulvoa military watch for me...Todd |
