So you burn your finger on the stove or some other hot item. Ya it hurts like hell but you're not gonna die. But you also can't walk around for the next 2 hours with your finger stuck in ice water waiting for the pain to go away. Maybe you've bugged out and there is no ice around. So whats a good over the counter cream or what not to keep in the first aid kit or BOB to take take pain away from small burns ?

It's not the cheapest, but my favorite far and away is Silvadene Ointment/Cream.

Good stuff for burns, although it is not an anesthetic.

I tried Emu oil a few years back and it made me a believer... say what you want, but the stuff works

an aloe plant-   cut the spines off the edges, and skin it.    slather the slime over the burn (works wonders for sunburn) as often as you can.    the leaf loses most of its effectiveness in a day or so after being cut off the plant.
this probably won't work too well for a bo situation, but in home it is the best.

Triple antibiotic cream with an anesthetic works well too.  Silvadene will cut the pain of a bad burn very quickly, shame it's a prescription item.

WaterJel products?

I have used them and like them for what they are (OTC levels of lidocaine). Helps with the minor pain. Target clearanced out WaterJel burn kits this time last year for 10 bucks for a pair of 4x4 pads and some other stuff. Made a nice addition to the BOV and such
