i ordered a couple water drums from them and the person i ordered from says if you buy one bottle of this amsilver asap for each drum, it will last forever. so i said sure, why not. when i get the amsilver asap bottles, there are no diections. so i call back for clarification. then it turns into you need 8 bottles per drum.
i am thinking just treat this with bleach and send the other stuff back. also is it 8 drops per gallon? and how often should water be changed? thanks. |

i would keep the amsilver asap, colloidial silver has been used as an antibacterial for years. i've used it in my eyes, in a sinus rinse and drank it in water.
if you are storing city water, then it's likely that your city adds enough bleach, so you won't need to. if it's well water, then you can add non scented bleach, i have heard from 1/2 to 1 teaspoon per gallon. what you could do is store the water and keep the collodial silver around and treat the water when you are ready to use it. it does not change the flavor of water. the silver website says you use it at a ratio of 1/200. so my math would indicate .64oz/gl for 50gl that would be 32oz. my math fu is weak, so double check it. |

i did get a resonse from the asap silver people:
We are not government approved for that use. But if you want data on water purification testing, there was a number of them done by a state water purification lab. They found that the product was very active in killing pathogens in water at levels of both 0.10 ppm and at .005. The 0.1 ppm (1/100)worked in a couple of minutes and at 0.05 ppm (1/200) it killed all the water pathogens within 20 minutes. In my own water storage I used it at 0.10 ppm so it was diluted one ounce of 10 ppm product into every 100 ounces of filtered water. But I am specifically not telling you what you should do, only what I did. kinda weid since beprepared.com has it in the water section and recommended it to me in the first place. |

Not sure here but my math says 16oz. Not sure tho my math fu is weak as well. I took 50 gal and divided it by 200 and got .25gal so that is how i got 16oz because it is a quarter of a gallon. Am I right?? |
