I have been trying to do more things to get my 2 1/2 y/o out more (geocaching) and I have no idea where I can find a decent pair of clothes for him. I have jackets, hats, mittens, boots and some insulated pants, and my wife said she saw snow pants at wallmart.

Does anyone know if they even make "long johns" for toddlers?? He is wearing 4T right now.

Use a kids fleece one piece sleeper.  Cut off the feet.  My kids have some nuce lands end ones that are 10 years old w/o feet that work great and are still in great condition.  Check the close out sections of websites for bargins.

OOOOoooo.....I like that idea, got plenty of those, their even made with cuffs instead of feet and no big deal when he outgrows them in a day or two. I think I will try wearing fleece as a base layer and see how it performs.

Otherwise thank you for the links. On another note, I don't usually care for Walmart when it comes to my sons winter clothes. You need to be carefull and look at the construction of things closely. My wife almost bought his winter jacket there because it looked warm. It makes me feel bad for some kids out there whos parents think they are keeping them warm but bought that absolute crap. I guess thats what dads for.
