| I'm about 1/2 way through my debt payoff plan, so by the end of 2009 I'd like to be finished with it. I slowed it down to achieve a goal with food preperation. I've finally gotten decent 72 hour bug out kits for the whole family and about two months of food stored at home. Now its time to really pick it back up again. |
| I want to get my cc permit this summer. Then 2 nice cc guns and 1k practice ammo and 100 good hprounds for each. I want to get the 7.62 up to 1k before Jan. I plan on a larger garden for the summer and a pressure canner. My wife should be half way through college then as well. I am really just trying to keep my head above water till she graduates and can bring in some good money. |

1. Springfield XD in 9mm for wife. 2. Walther PPK for concealed carry in shorts in FL. 3. CCW. 4. Finish prepping for Kodiak hunting trip. 5. Survive Kodiak. 6. Start reloading. Starting with 5.56 then .40 then 9mm. 7. Lose 25 pds get lean and mean. 8. More mags more ammo for all guns. 9. Start my own business. |

Hmmm…. Good thought. I never really thought about 2009 yet. But, in 2008 I told myself that I was going to buy 6 more firearms and I’m up to 5. Not to made. But, here are some thoughts for 2009
1.More ammo 2.More long term stored food 3.Stash more “things” around the house, instead of the safe. (The whole thing about all the eggs in one basket) 4.Clear off more house debt (that’s the only debt we have) 5.I like the more emergency fund available idea |

A few months ago, I started having problems with my truck transmission. It's fine for now but got me thinking that some emergency repairs can easily run $3-4k - or one might need to even buy another vehicle. It's good to have that kind of money set aside. ( Easier said then done sometimes when you've only been married a couple years and are adapting from a military life that paid twice as much.) With everyone panicking over a possible gun ban - you have to wonder how many people have drained their emergency fund dry.
On stashing things around the house. Ideally, I wouldn't keep everything inside a house - even if it is yours. Fires happen as do burglaries. Storing some supplies underground, in a garage, or on a trusted family members land somewhere is a slightly better option if you're that far ahead on preps. |

2009:
Buy House Get setup to start canning at home Get a year worth of food stashed away Get an additional stream of income Reduce the amount of needless stuff around my place. Use the equipment exchange to turn my completely useless stuff into mostly useless stuff. |

6. Kill My TV. I am not upgrading to digital TV. (I know about the coupon/rebate) Sick of all the leftist crap - my TV will be to watch old movies and informative videos."
GREAT IDEA. We did the same when we moved out of Florida. In about six months to a year you'll realize how your thinking patterns and mood has changed. It also frees up a lot of time that can be used for prep projects. I spent a lot more than normal this year on Preps. We got completely debt free in April of 08 and I began spending a lot of the formerly debt payment money on preps. Some was needed stuff, most was "more of" or "nice to have" stuff. Only major things I'll be shopping for in 09 will be a used PVS14 and an MPPT charge controller to upgrade our AE system. Course if I would happen to find any "deals" on ammo, mags or normally stockpiled stuff, I believe my arm will be able to be twisted |

Two years ago I lost 30 guns, and about $40k (replacement value) in ammo which was all but 4 of my guns and 99% of my ammo, plus all my food and "other" items when I had a house fire (total loss), plus my entire PV system, inverters, battery bank. No insurance due to distance from the road. Luckily my major tools including tractor, chainsaws, and sawmill were not affected. I've rebuilt a small cabin and have distributed new guns/ammo/tools/"other" around various places on the property and off. No more single source storage for me! |

Some of my 2009 goals.
1. Pay off my 2006 chevy trail blazer (just about there, I might actually just cough up the cash and pay it off in december of this year) 2. Sell my condo and buy a house (the selling the condo part is the hard part, I have already saved up the down payment for the house) I like the cheap living in the condo, but I want a bug in location that is a little bit more remote. 3. Buy a decent CCW gun for the wife. 4. Buy a second ACOG (so the wife has one as well) 5. Increase the food stash from 6 moths to 9 months (I will shoot for a year in 2010) |
|
Pay off my credit card.
Live debt free. Start a garden. Spend more time outdoors. Maybe sell my bike or my car and get a good basic truck (any more I think about it's thirst for 92 octane if SHTF. 300 some odd horse power is fun, buy I am getting old and semi responcible |

1. cut current debt in half (student loans and credit cards make it impossible to knock out in 1 year)
2. Purchase another reliable vehicle. (one new and 2 older POS aren't cutting it in this fam. Time to trade those 2 suckers in) 3. Organize food preps. (started out on right foot, but somewhere along the way got really off track. No rotation system, too much of single items) 4. Start hunting (40-60lbs of hog or deer will go a long way to help with grocery bill) 5. Start organizing day to day stuff. (got water, food, meds, but need more toothpaste, deodorant, etc.) 6. Put more into savings (is this possible with all that I need to buy?) 7. Gardening...(I can kill just about any plant you give me. This needs to change) 8. Training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, training, and more training. (any money that would have been spent on firearms is going toward formal weapon training. Not purchasing another system until I've worn out the frak'n barrels on these) |

well....here's my list
1. Graduate college and get my BA in psychology with a minor in management in May 2. Find a good job 3. Continue saving up money because I have a feeling it's gonna be a rocky ride for a while 4. Buy no more then 2 more guns over the course of the year, I'll have bigger priorities 5. Buy reloading components and reload in my free time 6. Read up on different skills and start practicing 7. Build up a few months of preps 8. Read more books 9. Start working out regularly 10. Really try to cut back on smoking or quit it entirely |
|
My only big goal (other than surviving the Obamanation) is to weather out the
the financial storm that is occuring. I believe the worst is yet to come. My other goal, which is largely going to be unobtainable for me in 2009 (but I want to make some progress on it nonetheless) is to try to obtain a bug out cabin. |
|
1. Payoff my wife's online course she's taking so she can work at home.
2. Pay most of my eldest daughter's car payment we just purchased for her. 3. Rig up two smoke detectors in the attic space so we can get a heads up if a fire breaks out in there. I'm going to wire up the power source and audible to our hallway. I'm also going to do the same for the garage and garage attic space. |

Work harder so I keep my job and income level the same. Continue with my prep plans with increased emphasis on financial and food preps. Tj About sums it up. Buying more gold coins as a hedge against inflation/dollar devaluation. Be more frugal with every purchase. |
