Besides the internet, I've found my local public library to have a surprising amount of useful books. You have to really search sometimes but my local library has a statewide computer network where you can request books that are located elsewhere. Books such as "How to Live Well on Practically Nothing" by Ed Romney, "Live off the Land in the City and the Country" by Ragnar Benson, Picking up "Patriots, Surviving the Coming Collapse" today. They also carry "The Road" but I couldn't get into that particular book. That's just a sampling but there is a ton of nonfiction resources there. If you can avoid the flamboyant liberals, the library isn't all that bad.... Netflix.......I know I know......it's a paid account and is mostly pop culture movies. They do have some survival related documentaries though with practical hands on knowledge. If you already have an acccount, at least check out some of the useful videos as well. Some examples.. http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Survival_Basics_I_II_The_Adventure/70023697?trkid=226871 http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Disaster_Preparedness_for_Dummies/70021014?trkid=226871 http://www.netflix.com/Genre/Hunting/2179 Amazon.com. A good resource for used books and video you can't find at your library - or for which you need a hard copy. Check out local used book stores as well. Yard Sales, Goodwill, etc might also serve you will but are very hit or miss. |
