I am planning on buying a couple of cases of 30-06 from CMP for, well, just in case. Since it is in sealed cans, I would expect it to be in good shape. Any one have a reason not to? Thanks |

nope, although you should have done it two months ago, before they raised the price 20%. You are limited to 10 cases of boxed ammo, and 10 cases of ammo on clips for the M1. There was a limit placed on the ammo, as some people started to order large amounts, and there were worried they would run out this year. They now say that they are good for a few years. |

I have maxxed out for this year, but I have to say I've been nothing but tickled with the quality of my .30-06 ammo. The ammo itself is just fine, and I've shot it in several civilian and military models, including belt-feds. No issues at all. I've opened my sardine cans to inspect the ammo, and then repack it into 5.56mm ammo cans. It is just as "dense" in storage this way, but in a standard shape/size for stacking and shelving. The only issue I've had in doing this is some of the glue on some of the boxes has given up the ghost, and the boxes can come open. Not an big issue, in my opinion, but something to keep your eye on if you're moving or repacking the ammo. I think its a great program- huzzah for CMP! |

The Greek Pyrkal ammo I bought from them has been in good condition. It shoots fine from my Garand and Springfield. It's lightly oiled, clean, no corrosion, etc. Probably the best deal running for 30-06 right now, especially if you need Garand clips and bandoleers. |

On the cmp website, what is the difference between NLU 415 and NLU 415-CN? Just Packaging? www.odcmp.com/ammo.htm |
