rant on. I have my own idea why, but, how is it that the people of the USA don't seem to understand that "someone" is poisoning our food. For the last what? 3 years, vegetables are making people sick and killing others. This is not normal or natural. But hokey pokey Joe and Jane Blow just hear the "officials" say "blank food is causing people to get ill, so don't eat it". And that is the maximum they ever contemplate it. rant off. |

Even auto makers have recalls. The thing with most food recalls is they are caused by unsanitary conditions as companys try to cut ends to keep costs down. And, if people could be trusted to properly prepare (wash and cook) their food most of those recalls would not be needed. And, as with all work and production, mistakes happen..... But, there does seem to be a rash of unclean vegetables coming from south of the boarder with issues..... |

My opinion, (you know what that is worth); There of course CAN be intentional poisoning. 50 people spread across a nation this size is statistically unimportant. If someone was intentionally doing this, they are absolutely the WORST terrorist ever. It is much more likely that due to extremely stupid trade practices, we allow food into this country that is grown in abysmal circumstances. Human waste is near/in the garden, and may even be used as fertilizer. Sanitation practices are primitive to nonexistant, ergo you get contamination. Nothing more, nothing less. One of the contamination episodes was traced back to a garden plot in Ca also, so some of it may be in country also. Doc |

I love to weave my tinfoil, but even I have to agree with the reality people on this one. We live in a time where the news sensationalizes anything it can find. That, and the use of the net by so many people now, and people are a lot more aware of such things now. Of course, being a survivalist, you have a big ass garden that your working on right? That way you can can your own, and not be a victim to such things? |
Actually, its more like 30 years... However, most people are grossly ignorant of what they are actually shoveling into their mouth... Its far easier to believe its unsanitary conditions at a food processor, or migrant farm workers taking a dump on vegitables in a field, then to actually buy a few books and read them. For anyone who is concerned about what they eat, or what they feed their children, I'd suggest three inexpensive books: "The Biotech Century" by Jeremy Rifkin, and "Seeds of Deception" by Jeffery M. Smith, and "Geneticall Engineered Food" by Ronnie Cummins. For everyone who thinks they will be safe because they have a "really scarey looking gun" and lots of ammo, and dress up like Army guys? LOL You people are far more likely to die from what you are eating and drinking, then from a fire fight with "bad guys", but go ahead and call me a tin foil hat wearer, but do try and remember this advice when your doctor tells you, that yourself or your child has cancer, crohn's disease, irratable bowel disease, lupus, mylagia, arthritis, diabetes, well, you get the picture. Remember that old saying : "You are what you eat..." and Bon Apetite |
once again welcome to the world of commercially processed food. NOT a conspiracy just a consequence of bulk manufacturing. |
Yes, these same compounds have made it possible for us to produce more quality food in incredible quantities and feed the masses, so it is really a quite equitable trade off. Doc |
EXACTLY!! Last summer it was spinach and the .gov investigates and says the "contamination" was from wild pigs geting into the fields. BULLSHIT! Its from ilegals crapping in the fields, regardless if there are porta-johns or not they don't wash their hands after crapping then they pick our food. The FDA will never say its from unsanitary illegals for fear of causing a backlash from the American people against cheap foreign labor.

+1 clearly obvious what is causing this do the sheeple really believe stupid shit like that? (wild pigs, pluzze) |
This is why it's wise to take up gardening and canning. |

Couple of short years ago, La Raza (on their site) put the word out to move against the food supply. We have a lot of Aztlan punks employed in meat packing and the AG industry. Many of the pathogens are INSIDE the plant's tissue, not just on the surface, I have learned (as with some of the spinach a while back). Some of this is even suspected due to the unexpected consequences of GM crops. Then of course we have the filthy practices of third world farming and human feces mixed into the dirt. I classify these attacks as Gray Terrorism. I believe many of these are attacks of sorts on the American people. Our soft underbelly is the economy. A couple bad crops here and there can lock up a whole industry for a week or so. Couple that with floods, drought and temp swings and fuel prices and we have the ingredients for food supply disruptions. Throw in the lack of US emergency food stocks (citing the recent report), JIT and other countries holding on to what they have instead of exporting and we have a serious problem building. These contamination stories are spun to make it appear as no attacks are taking place, such as the explanation of one instance that cowshit was the cause. The E Coli strain was later revealed to be of human origins. Global trade has invited all this tainted food into America. So, believe what you want either way. The fact still remains that we have food problems and people are getting sick, companies are loosing money and public confidence is wanning. All the while, prices are rapidly increasing and availability is decreasing. |
The reason is some jerk-off in a third world country took a shit, wiped is ass with his hands and didn't wash afterwards. Then he or she proceeded to pick tomatoes. That's what happened. |

"food recalls have been around since the dawn of time." At least as long as government watchdog-type agencies have been around. People who long for the "good old days" should keep that in mind when they wish they could go back. There was no government agency trying to make sure our food was safe, labor wasn't abused, or a lot of other things they take care of now. ![]() Be careful what you wish for. It might come to pass. |
It's worse than that. In Mexico, they actually use human waste as fertilizer for the crops. |
They do in many countries. The fact we are not allowed to do this even with properly processed feces to eliminate fecal bacteria and yet there are no bans on imports using methods that aren't even treated is another one of our countries "Catch 22" import loopholes. There are many and not just fertilizer. Paint is a very big one. We can import oil based painted products but not use oil based paints in industry. Heck, lead paint has been banned here for decades and we've been importing toys from China with lead base paints. Add them all together, its always been a problem with mass food production, its being found/looked for more now than before, there's more migrant workers, we're importing more food, and the media is covering it more, I think you have a pretty good picture. I don't see a conspiracy just typical government ineptness and another example of I guess they would rather be politically correct than morally correct. Tj |
Upton Sinclair, The Jungle 1906 is a good example. Some individuals watch too much TV and the Chicken Little Show. |

25 years ago..I attempted to get a bunch of fellow Chefs together and discuss and actually attempt to do something about food quality and sanitation with the growing population, fast food, mass consumerism I felt back then our food sources were at risk of spreading illness, poisons etc.. got little or no intereest in nearly a year of bringing it up to Chefs, suppliers, and some commercial farmers.. sad state of affairs..especially now with foods coming in from places our side THECONUS.. look at the poisioning of pets with chinese dog food, lead paint on our kids toys.. still think it is a soft push at the US by the chicom and I will go reline my Toque with foil,,it was getting a bit loose last I checked.. |
LOL, What if it was? Just for the hell of it, what if? How did the wild pigs get E. Coli? Why eating human shit of course. Couldn't resist. |
Yes, every day. I don't think I've ever seen a field with workers in it that didn't have at least one, usually two. I've also seen many that have hand washing stations on the porta potty as well. The setup is usually on a trailer. I live in the Central Valley of California. |
I used to work with a guy that used to pick melons. He said the porta potty is a 1/4 mile away so you had your choice of running back to the porta potty or doing business in the field. Being that you still had to keep up with the rest of the crew. Most decided to dump in the field. |
+1 and I live in Florida where migrants tend fields routinely. Believe me, E. Coli infection is not a vast coordinated external government conspiracy as was alluded earlier in this thred, but instead comes from inadequate sanitation, something that's been a problem throughout history. Writer |
just shitting in the veggies that ordinary Americans dont want to shit in! |
all i know if one can stop, between two parked cars in a parking lot, shit, and go on his way with out wiping in under 60 seconds..im sure they are doing it in a field with 100 others like them and not think twice! i mean hellplenty of leaves to wipe with there..![]() i dont think its an organised effort, but more of just being one gene strand away from being swine |
