Alright, I tried searching but didn't come up with anything.  What type of fuel stabilizer do you all recommend for gasoline storage in plastic and metal blitz cans?  Thanks in advance.

STA BIL has always worked well for me.

smart habit is to rotate the cans thru your vehicles/mowers etc and fill em as you empty them

How often do you rotate, everytime you fill up your ride, every few months, years?

Stabil, pick it up at about any autoparts store.  Comes in a graduated bottle so you get the mix right.

I've found this stuff at the local Wall-Mart, but I like the PRI stuff better, it claims to do a lot more, but you have to look for it. I've heard that it is carried by boating stores.

It is and some of the autoparts carry it too but not all of them.  Pepboys does here.  I use the PRI lead substitute in pre-73 cars.  The company sure know their stuff from my experience.

If you are rotating regular, IMHO, the Stabil works fine and btw is recommended by Mercury Marine.

+1 PRI-G

I swap out gas every summer into the truck to use it up and havent had a problem. I usually rotate it every year.

With treated gasoline, I find there is little need to rotate stock.  I had treated Y2K gas that I burned in 2004, without a hitch.

Can you mix these gas stabilizers into fuel that has already been treated with 2 cycle oil without a problem?

I'm sure you can but it won't do you any good since the 2 cycle oil is worse than the gas for fouling with age.

Yeah, I have a bunch of small 2 cycles too and wish there was a way to keep gas in there without having it foul up.

If you were to rotate your jugs of gas every 6 months you don't need any stabilizer.

For your small engines get the highest grade gasoline you can find, IE: Amaco/BP Super and use a synthetic 2/cycle oil and it'll store 6 months without any problems.

Depends on how much you put in. If you double the amount of sta-bil you add to a container, you can go for a longer period of time.

I use the recommended min amounts and rotate twice a year.

Whether its surplus gas cans or brand new blitz, it doesn't really matter to the stabilizer... just so long as the storage container is sealed.

I also use de-oxygenated 92 octane fuel in my cans. 1) lasts longer than ethanol blends and 2) absorbs water less readily.

Sta-bil and seafoam are both good products... use what ever you want. sta-bil is cheaper where I shop. I got 4 bottles of 32oz sta-bil for $4.99 last spring on sale with a coupon.

PRI-G has worked fine for me and have had no problems with two year old gas. I do rotate my stash every summer to keep a fresh supply. Summer gas is always the best to stash as it is better quality so it works in warm weather.I have used cans that were over two years old in chainsaws,ATV's and cars with no noticeable problems. I have had occasion to have to contact the company to check on its meeting certain critical standards and have always received prompt detailed factual info from them.

 PRI-D works great for diesel.

Many 2 cycle oils come with a fuel stabilizer. Both the Craftsman Synthetic and Poulan 2 cycle oil I have in the shed say they have fuel stabilizer included in their formula.
