In the last couple of weeks, SPG shipped to me 500 rds. of Wolf .308 that I had on backorder with them since December.

They shipped it at the price I ordered it at.

It is obvious that they are importing ammo, and the time frame required sounds about in the ball park.  I probably takes a little time to have them made, and shipped in from Russia.

BTW: Companies in the US put their orders in for overseas manufacture for Christmas merchandise in or around March to April, and their merchandise start arriving around Sept through Oct.

Wolf Performance Ammunition (also doing busness as Shooting Sports International) is an importer.  Wolf "Performance" ammunition, the Russian-made, polymer coated, rifle and pistol ammunition, is imported by Wolf from Russia.  Its made at the Tula Cartridge Works.

The Wolf "Military Classic" line is also made in Russia - at the Ulyanovsk Machine Tool Plant.

Wolf "Gold" was made in Yugoslavia at the Prvi Partizan ammunition plant, but it seems that Prvi Partizan decided to go wit another importer and its now sold under that name.

Wolf .22 rimfire is German-made and uses Vihtavuori powder.

So, when US retailers run out and Wolf Performance has none in the warehouse then, yes the ammunition has to be imported.

Sportsman's Guide is not importing Wolf.  They are buying it from Wolf Performance.
