I don't know if this has been asked before or not but here goes.
If a national shtf situation did happen and most city people had to Bug Out.
Should there be a rally point that arfcommers should go to and regroup, so to speak?
I live in the city and can't really afford to buy BO land somewhere remote.
If I had to BO I would like to BO to a place where fellow arfcommers would be.
I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation, There's fewer than 10 survival members in connecticut on the survivalist member locator list. I just think that it would be great if I had to bug out and I could tell my family that we will meet other arfcommers at said rally point, if not just for strength and moral, or even a goal to reach. I would rather be with like minded folks than with others.
Just wondering what everyone thinks.

I'm stuck in Providence with a major housing project 1/4 mile away from me.  Not intending to be vulgar, but I'm fucked if SHTF.  I am a broke college student, so I really don't have the resources to buy land at this point in my life. I have my apt stocked, and have a plan to fortify it as well as I can.

To be honest, I doubt many arfcommers would be very hosptitable during a national emergency.

Don't think just in terms of the SF list, check out your hometown forum and see if there's a group.
I know some of the hometown groups are really active.

The funny thing is, I was thinking of something similar to this today.
If I had to rally with ARFCOMmers, I'd really rather do it with the folks that contribute regularly, and well, in the tech forums, than I would with the bulk of the folks who stay mostly in GD.

This is exactly what I mean, there are some of us that need to ban together and have a place to meet and group up.
I also have provisions for a while but then what? It would be great to have a common goal to unite. Just thinking out load.

I agree with you also, my hometown group is very small, I'm not sure their even in the Survival forum. I could be wrong.
People from just the GD forum maybe not, but there are many others that take this seriously like us. I just think it would be worthwhile to group up and survive.

SirSqueeboo try the going back to college gig after your personal financial EOTWAYKI.  Translation to no team membership, and a lot of other things are off the list.

Back on topic

Many members do camps as a state or regional thing.  The camps are a great way to network and find out who is really like minded.  You don't want to bug out and find out that the group you have hooked up with is so incompetent that they make airsoft posers look like real seals.

A lot of ARFCOM SFers are into HAM as well.  I'm not personally, but I think it would be a great way to get support or arrange "meets" post SHTF and they seem fairly serious about PERSEC, so getting to know them now would be a smart thing to do.  Not sure how much that would cost you, but finding out is free.

join your local gun club to meet people with like interests, you can also match personalities. You need to develope long term relationships based on life rather than survival.

re group for what,to agrue which light, pack and mre is better>

Network now in your AO, make "contacts" that way. build realtionships and train.
Use the net as atool to do all that while you have it,

anway 100 arfcomrs will say they will show up, you may get 10 that actually do.
3 of those will be so outta shape once they get outta the truck they collapse, 2 others will wanna be the new "leader" of this said group. 2 more will leave becuase " this shit is getting old.."
1 will be a complete poser/loser  and the other just wanted to be there so he'd look cool on the net if it ever comes back up......
leaving you.... withsome prime choices to survive with

well it showed no rpelys this am on my end,, dunno why..

but you guys hit it,
network now,,camps, HT forums, shoots etc
not everyone that preps post in the SF.
ive meet some really nice folks from camp outs and shoots over the last few years.

If your able to just find 1-2 that are like minded in your AO consider it a blessing.....and work on it from there...

Amen preach it brother Protus.  Some of the best prepers I've met I'll bet never even lurk here.  Real well adjusted normal people but had their affairs in order when tornado or hurricane came to town.  Network with this type in your neighborhood now and you've got local support when an event happens.

+1,.. I was trying to formulate something to say, but you said it so well..

to the op; you are wanting to bug out to where? to do what? and with whom?   You will be better off keeping the list of folks you hang out with down to those that are known and reliable and usefull and of a similar mindset.  you also should have a plan and a reason to be at said location.  a bunch of internet commando's who all show up in some field somewhere each not knowing what the frap to do next is a disaster waiting to happen.
