It kill all the nasties in it, but it wont take out debris, youll have to fish that out yourself, but itll call the parasites, bacteria, etc. that is in water.

Also, it doesn't remove any chemicals that are in the water. So if your water is filty and polluted with gasoline, and you add bleach to it and filter it, it will still be contaminated with gasoline.
