Anyone use Real Tree camo as their SHTF camo?  I think that has a lot of merit as you can claim to be a hunter or simply look like "Joe Hunter".

Its my camo of preference. With a choice of hardwoods, brush etc its hard to beat.

I really like "Advantage Timber" it blends in well around here.  It's not quite as flashy as some of that digital stuff, but digital tends to stand out in a crowd.  You can wear "Realtree" or "Advantage" to the local diner and look like just another hunter!

i'm a fairly big guy, 6'2" and 270+, i normally wear sixe36-38 jeans, and Xl tshirts. i like to keep a pair of like 3x cheap walmart advantage, realtree, or fusion 3d, or whatever pattern is in season bib overalls, and longsleeve tshirt in my BOV. that way if i have to BO and don't have time to grab all my gear at my apt. i still have my FAK, BOB, CCW, bed/shelter roll, and some camo that's more than large enough to easilly slip on over whatever else(both pants and shirt/jacket) i'm already wearing. this gives me a couple layers, and as we all know layered clothing is the way to go. it also lets me blend in, both in the woods or with the local rural crowd in town.

Alot of the "hunting " camos are perfectly acceptable for SHTF stealth and you'd stick out alot less in a crowd.IMO.

I used to use RealTree Hardwoods (still do on some occasions), but lately my camo wear (for hunting) is "Natural Gear" camo.  I find it blends into just about everything.  Or if not, the large bland patterns turn your outline into nothing.  I think it really draws attention away from you by rendering you "boring."  I think the tighter patterns are good if you're still....but the slightest movement sets your RealTree patterned outline apart from the background.  YMMV.

The science behind it is pretty cool.  I love the stuff.  It's like mother nature's version of "OD green"

I see more people in NW Florida/Lower Alabama wear it as everyday wear than I care to admit. You would just look like the average Joe.
