Is there a water filter that can be used on pool water to make it potable?
Some of my neighbors have pools and I thought it could be useful in an extended SHTF event to be able to filter water for them in exchange for water for myself.
Thanks for your help.

Big debate on this. There are chemicals in pool water that is molecurally <sp> bonded with the water and cant be removed. Some ppl say you can. I would only use pool water for cleaning, etc.

Consider an inexpensive RO filter with a celulose acetate membrane [chlorine tolerant].

Lot's of info here in links on left:

ETA, the above filter is way larger than most would need for SHTF. We're talking a $25 RO cartridge plus accessories, [housings and ancilliary filters, hoses, etc].

I've bought stuff from these people, they have everything you need for most any senario, at decent $:
