This is my first attempt at a report, and posting pix, so forgive if I mess up.

Took some friends from work to fish for Kokanee.  Those are landlocked salmon.  They live in deeper lakes, but they spawn in the streams, just like their ocean-going cousins.  They are smaller than ocean salmon, but just as pretty, and almost as tasty.  Size varies by stream and lake.  

For some reason, this year they Kokanee were as big as I have ever seen, for this stream.  So we had some fun.

They fight like salmon when they are "fresh."  These fish fought hard.  Jumping, tailwalking.  It was pretty exciting.  They won't take dries.  It was all streamer fishing.  TIckle their nose with a streamer, and they'll bite it.  



We released most, but brought some home to smoke.  I'll post an AAR after the smoking gets done.
