Last night went catfishing and caught a few. Was comparing two that were about the same size but one had a huge head and wide mouth like a flat head but the rest of him was like a channel. He also had two big lumps on top of his head. He is on the right in the video. The one on the left is def a channel cat, but not sure about that other one.
Can catfish interbreed? And would it make a difference if the lake is over populated with cats and only 150 acres? Strange channel cat on right Sorry for the crappy video. |
| I've also wondered that. Here in AZ we always asumed its because theyre just smaller younger fish. Caught some channels last week and a couple had huge heads similar to what you described, but the lakes around here don't have flatheads. It also seems the stocked channels have much smaller heads and mouths compared to fish growing in the lakes. |
