I'm not real big into archery besides what I got set up for my bowfishing rig. My cousin just bought a new compound bow and is asking me if I want to buy his Nova off him for i think he said $100 or $125. Yay or Nay!?!?!

| I pulled it back and shot it a few times before about a yr ago, and it seemed like a good draw length right at my cheek. He's taken real good care of it cause he used it strictly for hunting whitetail n turkeys. It comes with 4-pin sight, neon peep sight, stabilizer, and pretty decent arrow rest. |

What do you mean by draw length right at your cheek? Is the string all the way back on your cheek? If so, then the draw length is too long. It should touch the corner of your mouth and the tip of your nose. |

Quoted: sry what i mean is release hand is right on my cheek is the way i meant that, the draw is good...right at corner of my mouth. So best bet would be to tell him $100 tops though what is your intent if you get it? Is this just going to be for target shooting in the back yard? Going to become replacement/back up for your bow fishing set up? Planning to start hunting with it? I may be stating the obvious, but you need to know your draw length, and make sure that the bow is set up (or able to be adjusted) to you. "Close" is not really appropriate. A 1/2" can make a difference. If your intent is to hunt, I would bet that you ditch it next year for a better Bow. Unfortunately Bows do not hold their value well. I personally believe, like someone else stated that the NOVA bows are PSE's bottom end bows and are for "beginners" (meaning a parent buys one for their kid, and doesn't want to drop a lot of money in case kid is not into it). If kid likes it, then out come the $$$ for a better bow. Like driving a Suzuki Sidekick, it is like a jeep and can be fun, but it isn't a jeep and eventually most will get rid of it to get a jeep. |
