Who does it?
What rig do you use? What bow? Do you do it from shore or boat? Post bow and fish pics! |

How do you guys practice? Keep the pics coming. As far as practice goes, I don't really have a way to replicate actual bow fishing at home. I think normal bow shooting pretty much takes care of the mechanics, and it doesn't take long to get my aiming down if it's been awhile. I do spend alot of time tuning my rigs to get the straightest possible arrow flight, which helps you connect more than anything IMO, especially with long shots or deep fish. While there aren't alot of tuning options when it comes to arrows and heads, playing with centershot and nock height really helps..........even changing from a FF string to B50 can have a profound effect. When tuning, I just shoot out across the yard while checking arrow flight. Tedious, but it works |

whats the best/ ideal setup for a recurve? its an old fred bear and it has the from stud. Ideally...........I would say an AMS Retriever with safety slides on the arrows. It's a safe, dependable, and virtually trouble free setup .But IMO, the right kind of spincast reel loaded with FF line will outshoot the AMS (due to line weight), but they can be trouble prone and unforgiving.........forget to push the button? Goodbye arrow...........line hangup in the reel? Goodbye arrow...... |

I just use a spool and shoot off a WarEagle or wade in the shallows... This is not me: We always thought a shotgun would be more fun with non toxic shot of corse |

Do you eat carp or something? I'm not the one that you were directing that toward, but I'll tell you what I do with the carp I shoot anyways.
My mom and dad keep a pretty nice garden, so every now and then when i get a nice load of fish I usually take them over to their house to use for fertilizer. She says it works pretty well. I also use carp for cutbait to catch catfish. |
