Hello, This is not a bow hunting question per se, but this seems to be the best place for it.

I'm looking for a decent recurve style beginner bow for my kids and myself.  We recently went to a boy scout camp with my 7 year old son and enjoyed the archery part of it, and now want to do something at home.

I live in an unincorporated part of the county and have about 20 yards of privacy fenced backyard to work with, and am not looking to spend more than $100 or so to start with.

We saw a beginner set at Bass Pro for about 25, but I would like your opinion first.  I almost bought this tonight

That would be just great for someone starting out!!   You can get a bag target for him to shoot for around 30 bucks...

Thanks for taking the time to get your son started....hope you catch the bug soon also!

Sure, that will work if you want to stick with a recurve.

You might also want to take a look at the Genesis bows, too.

I forgot about the Mathews genesis.  they also make the Micro genesis now,  that there solves the problem,  Regular genesis for Dad and a Micro for son!!
