I live in the northeast and am looking for warm and waterproof boots that are also comfortable. Regular work boots just don't cut it in the snow. Please give me some recommendations but know I am looking to be around the $150 range. Thanks.

I have a less "deluxe" pair.  They are all I ever use anymore in nasty winter conditions.  I always had issues with winter boots not fitting right, never feeling broken in, etc.  Since I switch to overboots, I slip them over my already well broken in boots when the weather gets nasty.  Best part is, you can take them off when you get somewhere and still have clean shoes on afterward... no more stepping your socked feet in melted snow.

I have put Muck boots through the wringer.

Not the greatest for hiking, and especially not great with a pack on, but for work in cold wet weather the are tough to beat.

Bunny boots.

White pair for the really cold days and the black for the somewhat warmer days.

We live in the coldest part of Alaska, upper Yukon Valley, in that bowl where the Yukon comes in from Canada.  The only pacs I have used successfully at minus 65 F is Glaciers; hard to beat.

You're looking for Sorel boots. I have the high vinyl and lower leather boots. Both are totally waterproof. The leather boots are warmer.

Thank me later

It does not get real cold here, but I like my pair of ICW boots. Adequate for most purposes including hiking.
