I put a 14 x 36 cabin in the middle of Tug Hill in NNY, and found the mice like it as well as I do. I've been using the usual bait/poison products, but they're still around.  They do hit the bait, BTW. Just wondering if there are any "home" remedies for this problem? What does everyone else use to get rid of the little b@$8@rds?

seal off anyplace where thay can get it.
then bug bomb the shit out of it.

any traps or poison will only keep the popluation down, you need to stop them from getting in.
then go nuclear on the ones inside.

And you may not find the poisoned mice, as I remember it doesn't start to work until the mice drink.  Personally I prefer the 5 gallon bucket half full of water near a table or counter.

The mice never get out so you don't have to smell dead poisoned mice, the trap doesn't need reset, it's wonderful.

Soak cotton balls in Peppermint Oil and sprinkle them around.  Rodents hate the stuff.

Need to go to a nice kitchen store to get it.

Outside....I don't care for cats, but we have a few that roam around, & I'm sure they have helped control the mouse population around here

We use moth balls in the camper and boats. Seems to keep them away.

Seems like I remember a similar thread where dryer sheets supposedly was the magic bullet.

5 gallon bucket half full of water. take wooden dowel and set on top of bucket, cut two slots so the dowel stays on top of bucket. slide empty toilet paper roller on dowel and smear peanut butter on it. Mice will fall in and drown when empty toilet paper roller slides them off like a barrel ride!

My mother had problems with mice on the roof of her house and in the attic. I don't remember where I heard this from but Zest soap bars deter them and I put a few on the roof and in the attic strategically with excellent results. They have been gone since.
