I need help making a camp check list for setting up camp
I will be going on a through hike on the AT and need to start getting my ducks in a row. Any input/help will be much appreciated Camp setup -Check for widow makers -Hang Bear Bag -Keep a pile of rocks near your sleeping bag so you can fling them at pesky animals. -Lay your sleeping pad down in the area you think you want to set up your shelter and lay there for a minute to see if that area will be comfortable for you -Moleskin -Do some stretching before crawling into bed and a snack and hydration before sleeping, and a pee bottle to avoid getting out of the fart sack in the cold -Avoid pine needle covered ground as they are full of chiggers. |

I dont really need a list.
I just wanted input from anyone who has done something similair. Also things I wouldent or havent thought of. Anyway the boy scout handbook is what I was looking for thanks Going to dust off my copy now lol I had hoped to turn this into a short list that a good acronym could be made from and would be used and make it easier to remember for all. /thread |
| Lay your sleeping pad down in the area you think you want to set up your shelter and lay there for a minute to see if that area will be comfortable for you. Nothing like setting up your tent fast and in a hurry after getting done with a long hike and realize after you lay down that your on a slope. |

I think all the info and checklists you need are on the tabs to the upper left of this page. It has some good packing checklists specific for the AT.

| For more insight than the Boy Scout handbook provides ––- Go to eHow.com, use their search feature to find my (jkendrick) informative article titled "How to Select, Improve, and Setup a Tent Campsite", which will probably be found with a similar search on Google. |
.... Therefore I am sure to always have some, that way I don't need it.
