anybody else in to caving,  It is something that really interests me.  I've been in several guided tours, and explored a few with groups in so central mo, and would like to do more and would like to find a group to cave with prefer the K.C. area but wouldn't mind anything from Co. to Mo.

I have not gone in about 18 years (been busy), but I know of a pretty cool one near Rolla.  It's on private property and goes back almost five miles through some pretty tricky stuff.  First went through it at age 10 with my dad and others, then at age 23.  I would go again, but I'm too far away right now.

Spelunking... sure.  Great sport.

If you really want to get into it, I suggest getting in touch with a local grotto.  They can teach you a lot and show you around your local area.  You will find a lot of great caves that way.  Have fun and be safe!  If you have any questions please let me know.

My brother in law is into it heavy. moving back to the 48 next year and I may join him.

I explored some caves nearby, but they are just pigment mines, and only go back about 300 yards.

www.caves.org is the National Speleological Society website and you can find
out ANYTHING you want to know about caving there.  You can also find a nearby
caving organization that can get you started safely and properly.

I was a member of the Boston Mountain Grotto in Fayetteville, AR. Have not been in a while due to change of jobs and whatnot. I have gotten to survey, many great virgin passages, and an awesome 300' rappel. I have caved with some great guys and gals from the Kansas City Area Grotto. You should check them out:
