I have a Vortex Low Pro bubble level.  I have having trouble installing it as whenever I get it level and tighten the nut to secure it in place on the scope tube the level moves.  Anyone know a trick to mounting these things?

Sorry, I have the regular versions with 2 screws.

All I can say is tighten in small increments readjusting the level as you go.

Then when you get it installed go out and shoot a tall target test to make sure your bullets impact straight up through the adjustment of your scope and also to check your tracking.

You may find you have to readjust your level or index the bubble in a different location(touch the left line or right line) to make impacts perfectly straight up.

I like to set my levels so the bubble just touches the line for more consistent leveling every time rather than trying to eyeball center.

Thanks for your help.  I have the 2 screw version of the level before, it was much easier to adjust.  Another method to check the level by adjusting elevation is with a plum line.   Thanks

A tall target test  should be done with fired rounds.

From my write up on the Vortex Lo Pro level:

"Got mine today and installed two of them. First took about 5 minutes as I had to learn it real quick and the next was about 2 minutes. For anyone installing them here is an easy way. Put the level on the scope where you want it and screw in the screw until you are about 1/2-1/4 turn off snug. Get the rifle/scope level. Turn the whole level assembly until about 1/3 of the bubble is on the left center line of the level. Then as you tighten it the bubble will move towards the level point. It should be leveled when you are snugged up tight with holding the small end of allen wrench. Worked like a charm on both mine. Just like as you tighten down rings and do one side and then the other and the scope moves in and out of level slightly. "

Great method.  Worked like a charm.  Thanks very much!
