Breaker, although the S&W M&P 15-22 is in no way a precision rimfire carbine,
it nevertheless is allowed to compete. Some important aspects to consider
if you desire to use the M&P 15-22 are:
The short 10 round mags will enable you greater comfort during the Prone Event.
You will be competing against Ruger 1022's and 1022 clones that have been
tricked out to the max for reliable accuracy.
If your club match allows the use of slings for position in deference to NRA
rules, the M&P will be negatively affected as it in factory form lacks a free floated barrel.
What makes it especially attractive is it easily makes the weight requirement of 7.5lbs.

Everyone who competes usually comes away enriched by the experience.
