worked them late last night on 40meter CW, pile-up was small, and I got them within a few mins.

Signals have been weak, but this is what I have worked so far.

3DA0WW is also in country and has much better signals to the US.

Yeah, that's who I got in phone mode. It is my most distant QSO to date, at 8008.9 miles. Not bad for 100w and a wire in the trees.

Sweet!

Farthest for me are Kuwait then Chile. Approx 6300mi and 5300 mi respectively.  And I am cheating with an amp now, usually running the 800w machine at 400-500 watts.

Thanks, guys! That was with a solar index of 77, so assuming things are getting better all of our reaches should only get better.

I am skeptical of the distances listed in QRZ (where I got that 8008.9), though. If I sort my QSOs by distance, I can see that a whole sh*tload of them are 5245 miles, which cannot be right for all of them.

Be glad you got them.  Once the two DXpeditions go home there will only be three hams in the entire country and I don't think they are very active.

3DA0AQ, 3DA0RU, and 3DA0WW were all on FT8 at the same time and frequency the other day. Talks about a target rich environment and absolute chaos.

I heard 3DA0VV on 20M SSB over a month ago and haven't seen him since. I swapped a few emails with  him, and he was very personable.

Spotting records also show a 3DA0LP and 3DA0TM in addition to the ones listed in this thread. One thing's for certain, they sure were very scarce before these two DXpeditions collided.

They are QRT in Eswatini but not headed home.  They moved into Lesotho and set up camp there.  Can't remember the call though.

Yep, they are in Lesotho now -- and I suspect that some of the group may have branched into Malawi, as there was spotter activity for 7Q7RU this morning for the first time (and they show a log upload today.) 7Q7RU was the Malawi call sign used by this same group in the past.
