Got into Deer hunting last year, but did not participate in muzzle loading season. Would like to now.

Who makes good muzzleloaders, the only ones I know of are Knight. Would like to spend around $300-400 or so. Already have a spare set of glass.

Knight and Thompson Center both make excellent muzzle loaders. You can't go wrong with either. I got rid of my T/C and bought a CVA. Big mistake.

I'm very partial to T/C.
Lifetime warranty that they stand behind with no haggle should you ever need it.
I have 3 of them and love 'em all.

I have a CVA.  Never had any problems with it nor do I have any complaints about it.  However it is the only muzzleloader I have ever dealt with.

T/C and knight are the only ones i recommend to people.

i have several of each brand and these two brands have consistantly proven to be top notch guns.

i would kill any man with my bare hands if he tried to take my Knight Disc.
out of the 7 BP rifles i have, none compare with it.

that includes a couple of T/C inlines.

i have a .50 cal and get 1 inch groups with loose 777 and knight sabots.

50 cal Knight Disc Extreme.

Just make sure that scopes are legal for the area you currently hunt and where you plan to hunt in the future.  In Wis you can't use a scope on a muzzleloader during the muzzleloader season.  You can use a scope on a muzzleloader during the regular gun season.

I can't seem to find a 'disc extreme' model on Knights website.

Could someone point it out to me?

I started out with an extreme and love it.  I just bought a revolution (newer model) but haven't shot it yet so I didn't want to recommend it.

Sweet, the black synthetic stock/ blued looks to be right in my price range!
