Just curious....anyone doing long term storage in mason jars ?? they arent that expensive and with a vacuum sealer and or oxygen absorber I think it would be a good alternative to cans.....more breakable tho.....what you guys think ??

I'd use coffee cans. Cheaper, bigger, won't break.  I coffee can will hold 2 1/4 lbs of beans. Oh and stackable.

Use a gallon vaccuum bag, fill, suck, seal put the lid back in place label and date it.

We’ve used wide mouthed mason jars with used rings and flats that we vacuum seal with our Foodsaver’s jar attachment. We’ve been doing it since before Y2K and never had problems with losing vacuum or visible deterioration.
