NJ just opened it up starting this year but are there any other states that do this? I know there are some military bases that allow Sunday hunting but thats about it. Its pretty cool considering alot of us cant hunt during the week due to work, or atleast can only hunt that last 3-4 hours of the night.

Ohio permits hunting 7 days a week.

I remember when they made it legal to do so, every hunter I knew was thrilled.  It seems like not that long ago, but it's probably been 15 years now that I think about it.

What is amazing is it is NJ.

You would figure that we here in the "Bible Belt" would not allow it.

I am still amazed that when spring Turkey Hunting in MO, you have to quit hunting by 1pm.

I was almost a "Poacher" one season.

Just thought it was like every other state I hunt.

Thankfully, I read the rule book at camp that night prior to hunting.

Would of went something this.

GW- What are you doing?

Me- Let me see, I am in Camo, have gun, turkey license, in the woods. What the hell do you think I am doing?

GW- I think you are going to jail.

ME- The hell you say. I have a license, on private property, and haven't even killed a bird yet.

GW- Yes, but it is after 1 pm.

ME- Well, I don't usually drink until after I am done hunting, or 5pm, but guess you do things different here.

GW- ID Now Please. Place hands behind back.

ME-Ohhhhh SH____________________T

WTF...?  No hunting on Sundays?

Besides Saturdays, if you have a job, when else are you supposed to go?!

Fuck that noise, I'd sue for religious discrimination.  My faith demands I actively be part of the ecosystem as an apex predator, and that means hunting whenever I have the opportunity.

I don't understand the Sunday's ban. Maybe originally a blue law, but now I bet the anti-hunting people figure it is a good way to trim hunting days.

West Virginia has always been a non sunday hunting state. What is really amazing is they allowed all counties to vote on whether or not to allow it a few years ago and there were still enough bible pounding hipocrits in most counties to keep it illegal. I think 4 or 5 counties voted to allow sunday hunting .

No hunting on Sunday? Thank god I don't live in a state that has outragious laws like that.

What is the justification for that type of law?

Because it is the Lord's day, and everyone should be in church.

Don't you know the outdorrs is not a church?

Ever heard of the separation of church and state? BTW, who's lord, I meen which one there are so many.

Just so I am clear, I respect everymans right to worship their god of choice at their church of choice.

Think you misunderstood.

I wasn't saying I agreed with it.

You just asked why it was that way? That is why.
