We don't do discount codes anymore, if we sell under MAP we use the "add to cart" method which is less annoying to customers than having to look up and enter a code at checkout.
We also almost never put ACSS products on sale because we have to protect our dealer network and their pricing. Let me explain, because this has come up more than once and maybe others will see this thread.
So, I bought some 5.11 pants to wear to SHOT Show this year. I went to the 5.11 store in Houston and tried them on and they fit great, but they are $90, right? So right there in the store I went online to Amazon and a couple other places to see if I could score the same pants at the same size for less money, because for me, a brick and mortar store front is usually just my favorite showroom for Amazon.
However, I discovered that 5.11 never runs sales on those pants and they protect their pricing everywhere, so the price on Amazon Prime or on Ebay was the same as on their official website and the same as at their retail store, down to the penny. The only difference was, did I want to pay shipping costs and wait, or pay sales tax and have the pants now? I bought the pants, and some other things, from the local retail store since I already knew they fit and the price was a total wash. The retail store guys were happy that they made a sale and got to get paid this week.
Similarly, we have a growing dealer network of brick and mortar stores around the country that are buying our products and putting them on their shelves. A $1300 ACOG is a big investment for a lot of these stores. That same money buys a ton of cheap scope rings or NC Star red dots. If they take the chance on buying an ACOG from us, and someone comes into their store and really wants that scope and is ready to pay for it, but then they check the internet and find out that they can save $100 if they order from our website using the code "cheapcog", that ACOG will collect dust in the local store all year. Those guys will never make a sale, and their business won't stand a chance. The only way to support the local mom-and-pop gun stores, which Primary Arms does want to do, is to make sure the price is the same on our website, on our Amazon account, and in the local gun store, so you might as well take the one right off the shelf in your home town.
Incidentally, the 4x ACSS ACOG was a rock star at SHOT Show range day this year. Hitting an Action Target steel torso at 500 yards with a 16" BCM carbine using bulk pack Magtech 55gr ammo was child's play. A lot of shooters were surprised at how easy it was to nail a 500 yard target with a 4x optic. We had a pretty steady wind blowing left to right and the wind holds worked perfectly on all three ACSS reticles we had out at range day.
