my brother just recieved his predatar 18" 7.62 i was wondering if the rifles were shipping with the index clips or covers and if the california compliant shipped with pmags and not the larue made magazines

i was just wondering if maybe someone at the ffl might have removed the larue mags . thanks for your input

maybe a larue rep could chime in? does larue make cali compliant 10 round aluminum mags? i thought i was in the right place to ask a helpful question

I have a feeling Pmags are the only ones they send out "pre-modified" for the "ban" states that can not receive 30 or 20 rounders... I dont have a LaRue 5.56, but my OBR 7.62 included Pmags modified to hold only 10 rounds just as the listing implied

"How does LaRue Tactical configure rifles for “Ban States”?
LaRue Rifles will ship with low-capacity (10-Round) magazines as appropriate"

As for index clips, they are not included with any rifle as far as I know, and are an additional option purchased seperately.

thanks hangtown. i just thought that maybe larue made an aluminum 10 rd. mag. its my brothers first ar anything so i just didn't want him taken advantage of thats all. i'm gonna have him call larue and give him the serial number and maybe they can confirm or not the manufacture date of the rifle. thanks again HT

Not that I am aware of... though I am new to LaRue rifle's myself. I just received mine about a week ago... there are no visible identifiable markings on the barrel of my gun, I have not attempted to remove the handguard assembly so there may be markings I am unable to see? I do know from research that the OBR 7.62 barrels are supplied by Lother-Walther...

As far as an accurate "born-on" date, I would imagine your bro's gun would not be more than a few days older than the date that was hand scribed on the rifles included test target (which looks promissing by the way!)

ETA: I guess I should have looked the rifle over under better lighting, sorry for the misguided info on the barrel stamp

Not only is it there, but they now have LaRue engraved across the state outline as well.

The OBR barrels (I haven't seen the Pred barrels) are marked. See pic:

thanks for your time and input. i'm sure everything is ok but just want to make sure my bro is suppose to call them thanks again. i'm coming up on my 15th week for my predatobr order. i was told that they are hoping to have some out by the end of the year

There really isn't any way to assemble a predatar from parts. LT doesn't sell the uppers individually. Someone would have to go through quite a hassle to do it.

Yes their should be a texas stamp like the OBR pic. At least my 18in TAR has it

My Predatar 7.62 came with one 10/20 PMag (20 round mag blocked to 10 rd) no index clips but it had the Grip Adapter Panels on the sides and bottom. I know my FFL did remove the mag because they are selling them to out of state (CA) customers. You can't legally get the LaRue 20 round mags in Kommiefornia that's just the way it is for now.

i got a call from my bro who spoke with someone at larue and confirmed his order. everything appears legit. thanks for your time and comments. i can't wait for my 7.62 tobr. i initially was going to order a gap-10 but i'm glad i chose larue.

AHHHH thanks for the clarification. Ok so let me then give my two cents (others already covered it )...but its nice for confirmation
1.) The mags are modified Pmags that are labled 10 RN on them
2.) The index clips are not included
3.) Yes the texas LT logo is on the barell.

If you want some more mags get a hold of TY over at MidwestPX.com and he sells the modified 10 round Pmags for the OBR. (MidWestPX Pmags for OBR)

I think I may be late to the party with the info but at least it confirms what the OP is being told!
