I just bought a set of Troy sights and was directed to this thread from AR General. I honestly did not know very much anything about the Ruby Ridge incident. After a few hours of research regarding what happened at Ruby Ridge, perusing the forums for details of their hiring decision, and reading Troy Industry's statement all I can say is that I hope that Dale Monroe gets hit by a city bus and Troy Industries goes bankrupt.

Such a sad road you guys choose to travel....................................We must stand on Principles or we'll fall for everything, so long Troy!!

This is my very first post on this board. I've been lurking for a very long time and I've learned a great deal on here. I was directed here from a link at calguns.net (I'm an active member there). I've been a long time supporter of your company due to the high-quality and excellent customer service in regards to your products. I am appalled by your decision in this matter, Mr. Troy. That was a pathetic attempt to justify your actions. I will no longer be purchasing any of your products and will not use them even if they're free. I find it absolutely repulsive that you, Mr. Troy, would support Mr. Monroe by allowing him to join your ranks in the company. I will not pass judgement on your decision but I am free to express my emotions. You've made a grave mistake by supporting Dale Monroe. I believe that anyone who has the slightest interest or support in our Second Amendment will have the same sentiment. You're reached a point of no return and have burned all of your bridges. I hope your company burns to the ground along with it. Rant over. Carry on.

My new MI rail will be here Monday. It would have been another Troy but never again. I need two sets of backup sights. Looks like Magpul or KAC is on the menu.

We are CLEARING out ALL Troy products in our shop and Canceled $13,000+ in orders.
It's funny, I have talked to Steve Troy on the phone and had email conversations with him in the past. I even considered him and his company a good business model at one point in my life. The ONLY way you would find Dale Monroe in my shop is if we dragged his ass in the back while we wait for the back hoe to warm up. This DIRT BAG deserves NO WORK in the public sector. <PERIOD It IS a Shame, the physical product is good. The business decision (and perhaps Steve Troys moral compass) is BAD! |

Anyone got a troy ambitious mag release they can't stand to have any more?
How exactly does hiring these people effect the quality of products Troy produces? |

|
Sure Why not. being a bad president wouldn't automatically make him a bad car manufacturer. I work at Ford so probably don't need to worry about that... Would you stop shopping at Walmart if Obama was stocking the shelves?
The Chicago cop guy I understand why people are upset. But this Dale guy I don't get. A bad shoot happen in the 90s people died mistakes were made does that really mean he is a bad person? Unfit to work for a completely different division of Troy from the one that makes accessories? |

Perhaps then you will find your answer. |

It is impossible to explain morality to those without any moral framework. If it doesn't bother you, buy all the Troy stuff you want.
Personally, I won't spend a dime of my money with a company that continues to employ the morally bankrupt while calling their killing of the innocent heroic. Since this story broke, I've personally spent over $3k with other companies that I would have spent with Troy. I've also exposed this treachery to others who were in the market for those kinds of products, no doubt affecting their purchase decisions by making them aware of the facts. |

View Quote To answer question 1: Yes, I would quit shopping at that particular store. Question 2: How old are you? Im gonna have to take a guess and say under 25, seeing as you are not familiar with the Ruby Ridge incident. It's pretty simple: The gov't tried to railroad Randy Weaver into being a snitch, and we wouldn't play ball, so they decided to 'make an example' of him, and in the process, Randy Weaver lost a son and his wife to state and gov't agents who trashed the very oaths to support and defend the Constitution they swore to uphold. Dale Monroe was the spotter for Lon Horiuchi, who is the shitbag the shot Vicki Weaver it the back while she was holding her baby. Dale Monroe stated during Congressional investigations that if he had been behind the gun that day instead of Horiuchi, he would have pulled the trigger just the same. So, not only was he spotting, but he also felt it was a good shoot. However, shooting through a door at a moving suspect, when you have knowledge that a woman and baby are at the scene and unaccounted for, just proves that what they were doing was attempting to kill anyone who resisted. And they had no need to shoot. The gov't could have waited them out. It was murder, plain and simple, and every gov't and state agent involved should have hung. I wouldn't piss on either of them in they were on fire.... probably look for gasoline.... |

If someone doesn't understand why we are refusing to do business with Troy just google "ruby ridge dale monroe".

Just bought three sets of Troy flip-ups before reading this. Guess what I'm returning? Yep... chalk yourself up for an instant $600+ loss, just because of your post here.

View Quote No surprise they don't value there customers. Few people not buying there stuff doesn't hurt them. It not until larger size company and gun stores stops carrying there products. I don't know how any pro gun company can support them anymore, if they do it's just the money. |
|
A friend was just about ready to buy a Troy free float rail. I explained about Dale Monroe and his role at RR; my friend agreed to spend his money elsewhere. A small victory in my little crusade, but a victory nonetheless.
|
|
And that's the last dollar I will ever spend on Troy products.
|
|
Well, I will be saving up to change out the Troy products I have. I came looking for a rail for my .308 to match my go to gun. I won't be supporting any Troy companies, and will lobby any leo in my AO not to use them in any capacity. Speak to your local reps, let them know not to use Troy.

I'm done with Troy too!
I will NOT support people who support an idiot who was "just following orders" at Ruby Ridge, because it is probably one of the worst cases of abuse of power in the history of the US! In case anyone doesn't understand what Ruby Ridge is all about, read this account on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_Ridge Steve Troy is not only employing one of those who was involved with the armed government attack at Ruby Ridge, but now he has publicly come out to express his support for the guy. Well, that's his choice..... but I feel he is supporting someone who should be ashamed to show his face in public! That's a shame too, because I really like the Troy products I bought in the past, and I HAD planned to buy more Troy products for my other black rifles. Troy's loss will be their competitor's gain! |

Wasn't it Jesus who said "He who is without sin, cast the first stone?" When I needed my BUIS, I looked no further than Troy.

I hear you Charles, great response.
I support Troy 100%. It's the other folks that will sooner or later realize that the crap they bought to replace Troy products are just that, CRAP. I say, let them waste their money on inferior products, it's THEIR money and THEIR choice, albeit a bad one. |

There is not a Troy product out there that does not have an acceptable substitute in the market, and the substitute/alternative products do not employ JBT cocksucking employees. With all due respect. |

I find it remarkable that Troy don't seem to care about a bunch of former customer and say nothing more of the issue. Maybe they will start hiring pedophiles next if they could make a buck
|
|
You can bet their feeling it. Especially the loss of business over the holidays. Seems like Troy already made his nut and no longer cares.

I just found out about this today. I've recently had my own troubles with Troy customer service- involving an out of spec rear sight that took nearly 2 months to get replaced (originally contacted them before thanksgiving, got the replacement a week ago), that had me doubting whether I wanted to buy anything of theirs again, but if I'd known about this, I never would have bought one of their sights in the first place. As other people have said, Troy doesn't make anything that I can't get from a different company.
I'm glad I got word of this today, I was intending to buy a Troy claymore today. I guess that won't be happening. |
|
Just ran into this thread.
Glad I never bought their overpriced "apple" crap. |
|
They're having to expand into the AK market to get their market share back.
The Troy AK handguards look terrible, btw. |
|
Just found this thread bummer bought a rail last month guess that is the last of my money they will ever get. I am pretty shocked at TROY actually a little stunned.
|
|
I'm surprised Noveske and LaRue still offer these sights standard...
Contract maybe? They have to fulfill until the contract's over? |
