I have a midlength upper I bought from ADCO last spring. It was built with a contoured, threaded and chrome lined barrel. Because of the ban I had it shipped with a thread protector pinned on.

My question. Is the pin the only thing holding this thread protector on?

No solder is apparent and the pin does not look like a terrible grinding job.

No solder, but there may be sometimes loc tite was used the hold it in place while the pin was installed.
