| Will the sear block prevent me from installing an aftermarket trigger and an ambidextrous safety? Thanks in advance. |

The block doesn't prevent the use of standard (full circle) bolt carriers. It DOES prevent the use of an M16 carrier with the longer bottom section. You can remove the block - period. It's not mandated by any federal or state law. Colt put it in to be PC. Most gunsmiths won't touch the block for fear of damaging the receiver. The pins are made of hardened steel. Find someone who has done it before, like Kurt Wahla (KKF). It takes good equipment and a steady hand. Kurt finishes it off very nicely, also. Mine was the first one Kurt ever did! Moe |

You should not have any problem installing a Jewell trigger. I have put them in two Blue Label rifles, both with sear blocks, without difficulty. I have no experience with the safety. As far as removing the block, there is a hydraulic method that has been posted here before that works quite well according to those that have tried it. Sorry, I do not have the link for the post. It still requires a drill press, some basic machining skill and a careful operator. |
